EMDR Intensives
Intensives are designed around specific goals and needs based on each client. Your therapist will use an integrative approach to EMDR ego states and polyvagal theory to help you reach your goals. In combining these approaches, together, you can unlock the power of your nervous system to do the work it was uniquely designed to do - heal and repair itself. Whos it for?
An intensive is for someone ready to dig into deep therapeutic work to relieve trauma symptoms, assist in healing the body from chronic pain/health issues, reduce anxiety and depression, increase joy and hope and a sense of self confidence and stability.
What is it?
An intensive is a focused EMDR session, targeting past traumatic memories or current negative belief systems that get in the way of you being able to engage in life to its fullest.
EMDR works with the brain and nervous system, using your organic way of healing to move you into an adaptive way of living and thinking. What is EMDR?
How it helps
Since EMDR works directly with the brain and uses your bodys natural way of healing, it is the fastest way to process trauma or hard experinces. An intensive can be very helpful if you are feeling stuck in therapy, have severe symptoms getting in the way day to day or have time constraints that do not allow you to engage in weekly therapy sessions.

Reach outHow it works
An intensive is designed to bring you the most healing in a short amount of time. You and your therapist will structure your intensive based on your individual needs.
Initial Consult
This 20 minute video or phone consult will allow you and your therapist to get to know one another, find out your goals and answer any questions you may have. This is also a time to ensure that an intensive is the right fit for you.
Scheduling
You will fill out all paperwork and schedule your desired time for your intensive based on your budget and goals. Once you have paid the non refundable deposit your time slot will be secured.
Session
Your therapist will provide you all information you need to know before session, depending on the amount of time you will be together, it is nice to have water and snacks available. Please do a gentle form of exercise before your intensive (walking, yoga, etc) to prepare the nervous system. During session there will be structured breaks and opportunity to reset.
After Care
Your therapist will discuss after care considerations during your session, it is recommended that you take the next day off if possible and not to schedule anything stressful for the next 2-3 days. You will feel fatigued and EMDR can have emotional side affects. You will have a stronger nervous system and calmer sense of self after your intensive.

No. You do not have to be in therapy to complete an intensive. An intensive is a great way to do a lot of therapy without having to meet weekly with a therapist.
